day 3

today was fun. tiring but still, fun. we finally got to do something besides bumming around the office doing data entry. well, we finished off the powerpoint slides kristin got us to do while she was in a meeting and spent the rest of the time bumming around, reading, talking and surfing the net while waiting for her to come out of the meeting room.

later she had us call people to chase them about updating the faculty's assets because she has to hand in a complete list of who's in charge of which machine soon. (chasing people isn't one of my greatest gifts. i'm too nice and i tend to avoid confrontations especially with people i've never met). so anyway, that lasted till lunch because after lunch we got this great idea that we would go look for the people who we had to call over the phone and show them the list in person, asking them to pick out whatever was theirs.

kristin showed us to and around block 53 and left us to look for the people we needed. so in total, we met about 7 new people today. they were all very nice, all but this one guy kai wei and i didn't like. he looks like a mad scientist and when you first meet him, you just think 'don't come near me' kinda thing but the rest was all good. just for the record, let me list them out for you:
herman: this nice guy who genuinely seems to want to help.
shukor: the person who works with herman, very funny and helpful too.
doris fong tai thai: what a name and she really looks like a "tai tai". lol.
(mr.) foo: mad scientist who gives me the creeps.
wong weng seng: nice but not too helpful. not that he didn't want to be but just that there were somethings he wasn't sure about.
jenn hui: very very tall. young, helpful, seems like he just started work not too long ago. gave us a tour of the sound studios and is nuts over the band payable on death (P.O.D).
david ng: what can i say? he was helpful enough, although somewhat aloof. his is very through with his work too, not many problems with that.
there, there's all of them for you. now, didn't i have an eventful day? nothing of that mundane data entry crap and we have yet to finish "chasing" people which means that we'd probably be doing that tomorrow as well. if only everyday was like this. desk jobs aren't really my thing. besides, it's nice to meet new people, even if i'm not very good with strangers. :)
