hrm, i was just reading some diaries around the site and it just got me thinking about my life and the things that have been going on in the past months or so. i have just realised one thing - so far, i've just been stumbling through life aimlessly, without a clue of what i intend to do with it and without much of a goal.

i guess it's all really quite scary because most people i know have some sort of an idea about what they intend to branch into in the near future.

besides, this is singapore, with it's streaming examinations held at least once every two years. i think that by maybe fourteen, the government expects us to have a little idea since we have to choose the stream we have to take, wheather it's geography, liturature or history and if we want to take triple science (biology, chemistry and physics) or maybe just one or two of the three. not that it's much of a choice for weaker students or anything, since it's ultimately your grades that speak for you. before this (supposedly huge) examination, the school gets the teachers to give us a rough idea of what we were getting ourselves into by choosing each different stream. ie career oppotunities and blah, blah, blah. but i'm still clueless about what the heck i wish to get myself into.

another scary thought: the 'o' level examinations. (something i consider a really major thing at this point of my short short life.) well, they basically determine wheather you get into a junior college which offers a two-year course, or a polytechnic which offers a three-year course or ite (not sure what that stands for but some people say it's the place the weakest of the weak students go, their last hope...).

well, this takes place in less then a year an a half, which is a really short time.

considering my current results, i really have to start working a lot harder if i even want to expect to get barely decent results. *sigh* it's very, very scary to think that at about this time next year i'll be taking my chinese 'o' level paper...

i really don't know how to end this entry, but i've got to run. be back soon.
