visited the jurong west library to return some slightly overdue books. *whistles innocently* and proceeded to do some shopping with my mom.

after that we went to grams to have dinner and pick up dumplings (gluttinous rice with stuff in it (usually meat), wrapped in banana leaves) cause today's dragon boat festival where i am. it was inspired by people throwing dumplings into the river, after some patriotic chinese poet drowned himself, in hopes that the fish and the creatures in the sea wouldn't attack his body. so today, we eat rice dumplings to commemorate that day and in memory of the poet. or something like that. please don't take my word for it since i don't really pay much attention to festivals and stuff like that. go do a search on it if you wanna find out more. anyways, now we've got dumplings cause my aunt made some. and my mom expects me to eat most of it since my sis and dad aren't around... it's a ploy to fatten me up i tell you. ;p well, i guess it's actually pretty nice, just a little too oily if you ask me.

ooo, tomorrow's daddy's day! not like my dad's gonna be around or anything since they're only returning from malaysia on the 19th (wednesday). still haven't made anything or bought anything yet. i don't really intend to since i get him almost the same thing every single year - either a belt or new wallet. i think i've given him a tie or two as well. i hate getting him ties cause we have totally different tastes and he usually picks up what i think are the worse possible designs and he never likes what i point out. so either i'll get nothing at all for him this year and pretend i'd forgotten or get a shirt. hmm... yup well, we shall soon see.
