"How can you judge a person's intellect in one and a half hours and by looking at his damn L1R5. What is this obsession that everyone has with examinations and that "Dont fuck up your papers or you whole damn life is screwed" attitude. Is this the way that the philosphers of the past wanted our youth to grow up? A bunch of textbook/ten year series devouring morons? What happened to play time? What happened to our childhood? Damn the evil coporations."

stumbled upon this while i was poking around in other people's diaries. beautifully put. whoever this is, i salute you.

anyway, i feel the government isn't helping at all by implementing the whole 5 day week thing. they talk about easing the stress off students, but how is trying to fit the same amount of rubbish (mostly) into a shorter period of time supposed to alleviate the stress? if anything, i think it serves to create more anxiety for both students and teaching staff. they are (obviously) not willing, or are simply too narrow-minded to realise that the way they can make any positive difference is by cutting the syllabus or lowering the requirements they set on today's youths, and not adding more and more to be done in a lesser amount of time.

somehow, i am more inclined to think it's the former.

Love, Wan
